Music
Gateway posseses a huge array of musical talent, and there is every opportunity for both new and experienced musicians to practice their musical gifts.
Worship team
Our music team consists of a keyboard player, drummer, bassist, violinist, two guitarist and several vocalists. We have three lead musicians who, together with the rest of the music team, support the rest of the church as we worship together.
Musically speaking, we come from varied backgrounds ranging from a classically trained violinist, to a blues singer and a jazz drummer. Each member of the team, whether experienced or not, brings their own unique voice to the music as a whole. We aim to be excellent but the most important ingredient in each musician is a desire to worship a loving God.
We use a mixture of songs from contemporary artists, updated classics, and songs written by members of our team. Practice takes place once a fortnight and before the meeting on a Sunday, and these times are both fun and inspirational.
GYM
The GYM' (Gateway Young Musicians) is a ministry that has been set in place for those who are interested in music and want to learn to play new instruments, or practice an existing musical talent. The vision is to rise up a new generation of musicians and potential worship leaders, allowing everyone a freedom to flourish in their talents.
We aim to train and equip participants with skills that may ultimately lead to playing with the worship team on Sundays.
Musicians of all ages and abilities are welcomed to the 'GYM Jam' practice sessions, which take place every two weeks.
